Connexions in Tyne and Wear provides help and advice for young people in and around the Tyne and Wear region.
The Tyne and Wear Connexions hub approached us after concluding their old web site needed to be completely rebuilt to facilitate the incorporation of new features. Their in house designers had a general idea of how they wanted the site to look, leaving us with the main role of integrating a new CMS. The various Connexions centres would require access in order to control and update their own individual parts of the website.
Our main priority from the start was to provide a website that would allow people to find the information they were looking for, quickly and easily. The Connexions site had so many pages, it was important that we structured the site architecture correctly. Following feedback from the client, and the target user group, we all agree that this goal has been achieved.
The CMS, a large part of the project, had to be easily accessible to over 30 individual users, each one having their own login information and specific access privileges. These users find it easy to change the site's content and it can now be updated regularly, ensuring young people from across the region always have access to the latest advice and support.
Feedback from user focus groups has been excellent, and the statistics have shown a marked improvement, with visitors staying on the site much longer than they had done previously.
