Beamish is an award winning, open air museum situated in the North East of England. The museum is over 40 years old and offers a look into how life was during the early 20th century.
Beamish approached us with two briefs. The first was for a new CMS system and re-design of the website. The second was to integrate a new eCommerce booking system into the website.
Initially they were open to working with two companies, one for each brief, but after consultation they appreciated that we could efficiently integrate the two: a fully customisable CMS for the main site and an eCommerce system for booking tickets online.
Beamish are extremely happy with the website. We worked closely with them and the end result is a clean and fresh looking site that is easy to use by administrative staff and front-end users alike. The online calendar ensures users can quickly and accurately book their tickets online.
The new website was launched online just before Christmas 2010 and the online booking system quickly started receiving bookings for Christmas events. This system has increased the efficiency of online generated admissions, with the user being able to print off their e-receipt and take it with them when they visit the museum.
