Home Medical Equipment is a fully integrated e-commerce website selling high quality medical equipment for personal use at home.

Home medical equipment came to us wanting a full e-commerce website that would allow them to sell medical equipment for home use. This is a relatively new market area and it’s rare to find these medical products in shops so we took to this project with great enthusiasm.

The site was based on our own e-commerce system, but because it was so full of features our e-commerce system had to be heavily customised and it now supports a lot more. The website handles everything from searching for products to VAT exemption of eligible products and it was done so with ease of use in mind.

Because of the nature of the website, our designer was meticulous in making sure all accessibility guidelines were adhered to. As well as this, the website is very search engine friendly allowing products to be found by search engines.

Our content management system also had to be updated to allow the user to have more control over what they would like displayed on their website. The home page has five different areas that are fully customisable in the content management system as well as a customisable flash advert banner. Bestsellers, recommended products and customer feedback have all been introduced and are automatic.

All products are controlled by the site owner and they have the ability to upload mass catalogues at one time, or individual products, and then also relate these products to others with an easy to use drag and drop tool. Products can have multiple images and it’s all easily controlled by the content management system.
